Stroll along enchanting trails illuminated by thousands of twinkling lights, enjoy festive holiday displays, and make lasting memories with family and friends. Whether it’s a cherished annual tradition or your first visit, the Luminary Walk is a Kansas City holiday favorite that celebrates the wonder, warmth, and beauty of the season. Proceeds from your visit benefit the Friends of the Arboretum, allowing us to enrich and elevate the Arboretum.

Traditional Luminary Walk Weekends: Nov. 27-28, Dec. 4-5, 11-12, 18-19
Wander through garden paths aglow with sparkling lights, enjoy live music, luminary candles in the woods, gnome and fairy villages, and capture a photo with Santa—an evening made for festive family memories.
Adults-Only Candlelight Stroll: Dec. 3, 10, 17
Enjoy a serene, adults-only evening with candlelit woods, live music, and magical light displays and gnome villages—perfect for an outing with friends or romantic date night.
Electric Glow (Limited Capacity, Electric Lights Only): Dec. 16, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26
A special electric-lights-only experience with smaller crowds—ideal for low-sensory needs and a calm, easy stroll through the glowing gardens.
Glow Cart Tours (Accessibility-Friendly): Nov. 29-30, Dec. 1-2, 6-7, 9
Experience the magic of the gardens with an accessibility-friendly ride designed for guests with mobility needs, featuring staff-driven 3 or 5 passenger carts that take you through the dazzling light displays.
