Growing Kindness Campaign

Growing Kindness is a new, monumental sculpture of stainless-steel poppies coming soon to the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Inspired by the artwork of Overland Park native Jeffrey Owen Hanson (1993-2020), the 30-foot sculpture will be fabricated and installed by Zahner, of Kansas City.

Fundraising has begun for the $3 million sculpture. As of December 2023, $1.3 million has been raised.

Jeff Hanson donated paintings to over 200 charities across the country, raising $7 million for various causes. Jeff’s core belief inspires all of us to promote and “grow kindness.”

“Every act of kindness helps create kinder communities, more compassionate nations and a better world for all.”

Help us grow a kinder world.
