Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead is super fun every day of the season, but check out these events to make your visit extra special.


Late Night Fishing
New at Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead in 2017 - Late Night Fishing! Come join in, bait a hook (with corn kernels), cast your line and catch some fish! Free from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Choose to come on May 30 or June 13.
Music at the Farmstead
Sing and dance as you listen to lively music at these free children’s concert on 3 evenings during the summer. Meet at the Red Pavilion. Concerts begin at 6:45 p.m. and last until 7:30 p.m. Please, no pets allowed. See calendar for dates. On June 1, enjoy Funky Mama. Featured entertainer on July 6 is Rockin’ Rob. Music at the Farmstead on August 3 will feature Jim Cosgrove, "Mr. Stinky Feet." These free concerts are brought to you by the City of Overland Park and Friends of Overland Park Arts.
Mad Science Mondays
What could be better? Your kids will love these hands-on science experiences at their favorite place - Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead. Choose from sessions for 4-6 year-olds or 7-12 year-olds. Register at Mad Science KC. All sessions are on Mondays 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. during the summer.

Girls and boys will run/walk separately in each division except the babies and adults. After each race, medals will be presented to all registered participants. Join us for the 19th annual Pumpkin Hollow, consistently rated as one of the top five pumpkin patches in the area. All inclusive in the ticket price, children can hop aboard the Pumpkin Hollow Express - a barrel train, pulled by a John Deere tractor, get lost in the maze, climb a hay pyramid, slide down the giant hay slide and choose a pumpkin to take home.

Every October, we transform the Farmstead into a fun-filled, yet eerily spooky place. Our 21st annual Night of the Living Farm takes place after dark with lanterns and jack o'lanterns lighting the way. Holiday Lights on Farmstead Lane

A festive holiday light display showcasing pictures, animations and sparkling effects all synchronized to music and viewed from the warmth of your car. The display, formerly known as the Ultimate Tree Light Display was located in the Deer Creek subdivision. Mark Callegari, owner of the display, has donated his materials and continued support to make the show better and better each year! Join us in celebrating the fifth year of Holiday Lights on Farmstead Lane.
