What is Tastings on the Terrace?
Sip, savor, and stroll your way through the season at the beautiful Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. From May through September, this tasting series invites you to enjoy a rotating lineup of local food and drink experiences set against the backdrop of blooming gardens and scenic outdoor spaces.
Each event features a variety of delicious tastings, from savory bites to handcrafted beverages, creating unique flavor pairings to explore throughout the evening. Check out the vendor lineup below to see which local favorites are joining us on each date. Even more dates will be added throughout the season, including special events highlighting non-alcoholic beverages and all-ages experiences.
This series is a signature fundraiser. Proceeds support the Friends of the Arboretum and help preserve, enhance, and grow the gardens through improvement projects and enrichment programs for the community.
Where is the event held?
The event takes place in the beautiful Xeriscape Garden, located near the Environmental Education Center on the east side of the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Guests should enter through the East Main Entrance Gate and follow signs past the East kiosk for check-in.
Reminder: This event takes place outdoors in the garden spaces at the Overland Park Arboretum. For your comfort, we recommend wearing sunscreen, bug spray, and any other items you may need to stay comfortable throughout the evening.

What time does the event start and end?
The event begins promptly at 6:00 p.m., so please arrive on time to get settled and seated to best enjoy the full experience. The event concludes around 8:00 p.m.
Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance as this event typically sells out. If any tickets remain, limited same-day sales may be available online in-advance.
Is your favorite night sold out?

What does my ticket include?
Your ticket includes an evening of beverage tastings featuring up to 5 premium drinks ranging from wines to beer, or non-alcoholic treats, and a selection of small bites designed to complement the sips. Admission to the Arboretum is included and you may stroll the gardens and enjoy the surroundings during your visit as much as you'd like.
What kind of food is provided?
Guests will enjoy a selection of light bites curated to complement the wine or drink offerings. While we make an effort to include some vegetarian options, we are unable to accommodate all dietary needs or food allergies. We appreciate your understanding.
What’s the seating situation?
Seating is available at big tables in the Xeriscape Garden and nearby patio areas. No need to bring your own chairs or blankets, just come ready to unwind.
Are kids or pets allowed?
No, this is a 21+ event. No children or pets, please, but service animals are welcome.
What’s the parking situation?
Free parking is available in the main Arboretum parking lot on the east end. Follow event signage for directions.
Can I get a refund if I can’t attend?

What if there's rain in the forecast?
Typically, we do not need to cancel the event due to poor weather. Activities will take place indoors at the Environmental Education Center near the café space. If the weather clears, feel free to bring a raincoat or umbrella and enjoy a stroll through the gardens.
