Concerts and Performances in Overland Park

Free Concerts

Overland Park offers many events where you can enjoy live music, children’s performances, and more. Many of these shows are hosted together with other community organizations, including the City of Overland Park.

Overland Park Civic Band Concerts

The Overland Park Civic Band presents seasonal, free, public concerts featuring a variety of classic and contemporary music. A fixture in Johnson County since 1938, the Overland Park Civic Band is comprised of about sixty adult amateur and professional musicians from across the entire Kansas City metropolitan area. The band rehearses once a week for 40 weeks each year at the Tomahawk Ridge Community Center and presents seasonal concerts that are free, family-friendly and open to the public. 2023 Concert dates TBA.

Overland Park Orchestra

The Overland Park Orchestra is a volunteer orchestra sponsored in part by the City of Overland Park. Since its inception in 1973, the orchestra has played for children and adults at a variety of venues. The group also performs at a regular Halloween concert with a costume parade for children. “Local Life” – Third Fridays in Downtown Overland Park

Make it date night! Lots of entertainment, food and drink specials, art exhibits, performers, and more to enjoy. All summer concerts are free and open to the public. 2023 Concert dates TBD.

Overland Park Fall Festival

The 39th Annual Overland Park Fall Festival will be Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30, 2023. Marching bands from local high schools will participate in the parade, and the Overland Park Civic Band, other local bands and a headliner will perform.

Children’s Concerts

Children’s concerts are held at 10 a.m. on the first Wednesday of the month from April through September. Each show includes interactive music, storytelling, puppet shows, and other children’s performances. Concerts are free and open to the public. View the schedule here.
