Friends of the Arboretum July Newsletter
Dear Friends,
In 1989, Tina Turner said it well, “you’re simply the best, better than all the rest”! While I don’t want to get ahead of my skis on this one, I am excited to share that the Friends of the Arboretum has been nominated for Best Not For Profit Organization (Professional Services/Workplace category) in the Shawnee Mission/Blue Valley Post’s Best of Johnson County 2023 — FOTA is one of five finalists in this category! On behalf of our organization, I am honored that our esteemed group was nominated and I look forward to the bragging rights and exposure that come along with our win.
For five weeks, starting on July 10 through August 15, Johnson countians will be able to vote for their favorites across 140 categories with winners announced in September. Cast your vote early and vote often through BestofJohnsonCounty.com. All users can cast one vote per category per day. So if you’ve got someone you’re super passionate about, don’t be afraid to support them multiple times!
Your membership means the world to the Arboretum! With over 1800 members strong, you bring visibility to the Arboretum across all walks of life and in every corner of our community. You are an advocate for the gardens demonstrated through your continued gifts of time, talent and treasure. You are to be applauded—and I hope that you see this nomination as celebrating your collective efforts.
