Friends of the Arboretum November Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Last month I took the opportunity to share a few ideas on ways to “gift” the Arboretum for friends or loved ones on your holiday gift list. Since we are rounding the corner into an early Thanksgiving, I thought the ideas were worth repeating. Let the holiday shopping season commence!

  • Give the gift of membership as a Friend of the Arboretum.
  • Make a donation in the name of a friend or family member to Growing Kindness or even adding their name to a commemorative leaf on Inspiration Wall just outside the new LongHouse.
  • Consider a tribute gift based on your loved ones interests or passions like the train garden, garden spaces, benches, patio pavers, and more!
  • A personal favorite, give the gift of yourself. Create a coupon for a special day with you at the Arboretum or for an upcoming event. We even created one that you can download and use!
  • Give tickets to one of our three holiday lighting experiences.
  • Come take a stroll through the new gift shop in the LongHouse—there are a lot of garden-themed items to pick from.

Volunteer with Us

There are numerous opportunities to share your time and talents at the Arboretum. If volunteering is on your “To Do” list, please contact Kim Alvarez at kim.alvarez@opkansas.org.
