About Friends of the Farmstead

A community of passionate people on a mission to enhance and enrich the Farmstead for today and for future generations.

Friends of the Farmstead (FOF) is a membership group operating as part of The Arts & Recreation Foundation of Overland Park, Kansas. Designed to support the Farmstead, the Friends group provides annual membership opportunities, maintains a donor program, provides special events throughout the season, and supports educational and volunteer programs.

Members enjoy free admission to the Farmstead for the entire family,  discounts on admission to Pumpkin Hollow and Night of the Living Farm, and other benefits.

Membership in Friends of the Farmstead is fully tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Purchase a membership for your family at Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead during the season (April 1 - October 31) or at one of Overland Park's Community Centers:

Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty St.

Tomahawk Ridge Community Center, 11902 Lowell Ave.

Membership sales provide funding for programs, capital improvements, and the  annual special events that make Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead even more special for guests.

There are volunteer opportunities for those who want to get the most out of their membership. Whether it's being on a team to enhance the Farmstead experience or helping produce one of the signature fundraising events, or serving on the Advisory Board, volunteers have fun while making the Farmstead such a wonderful part of our community.

 

Benefits of Membership

Membership in Friends of the Farmstead entitles two adults and all minor children residing at the same address to free admission to Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead for one year from the date the membership is activated. Each membership level includes additional benefits. Additional Family Membership Benefits

  • Two FREE breakfasts at Ruby’s Pancake Breakfast (May 4)
  • $5-off admission per person to "Moon Shine on the Farm" (September 7 - the annual grown-ups-only evening of fun, food and music at the Farmstead)
  • $1-off admission per person to "Pumpkin Hollow" (Month of October)
  • $1-off admission per person to "Night of the Living Farm" (October 18 & 19; 25 & 26)
