Contribute to the 9/11 Memorial

On September 11, 2012, the 9/11 Memorial at the Overland Park Fire Training Center dedicated its first phase. Phase one of the memorial included work and surface, as well as the erection of the steel artifact and the four education panels, that tell the stories of the flights that crashed on September 11, 2001. In 2013, two additional design elements of the 9/11 Memorial received funding, the Victim's Panel and the Memorial Benches. In 2015, the Memorial's design was completed with the addition of the Weeping Wall, the Donor's Panel, and additional memorial lighting.

Your donation today will ensure that our City's remembrance and honoring of the nearly 3,000 lost on that day including 343 firefighters will endure. Through remembrance of our pain comes action and hope for a safer world and a brighter future for generations to come.

The design for the 9/11 Memorial, centered around the World Trade Center artifact, has a two-fold mission: remembrance and education. The idea is to provide a place for tribute and a place to teach our children about the events of September 11, 2001.
