What is Terra Luna?

In collaboration with Quixotic, Terra Luna offers a family-friendly, immersive experience through the garden paths and woods at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. This multimedia walk features light displays, performers, and music along a 1/2 mile paved trail.

Attractions include lighting effects, fog, minimal path lighting, and some areas of inclines, declines, and uneven, narrow pathways. No strobe lights will be used in the experience.

Can I purchase tickets at the door?

We strongly recommend purchasing your tickets online in advance to secure your spot. Time slots can sell out quickly, and same-day availability is not guaranteed.

If you arrive without tickets, QR code signage will be available in the parking lots and at the LongHouse Visitor Center entrance for onsite purchases—but please note, tickets may no longer be available by the time you arrive. To avoid disappointment and ensure entry, we advise purchasing your tickets ahead of time before making the drive to the Arboretum.

How long is the Experience?

The Terra Luna experience typically takes about one hour to complete. If you have extra time before or after your scheduled walk, we invite you to enjoy food trucks and beverage stations near LongHouse Visitor Center. You’ll also find a couple of beverage stops along the trail, perfect for pausing your journey for a cocktail or refreshing drink before continuing the experience.

What is included in the VIP Fast Pass?

The $60 VIP Fast Pass includes a glow wristband and priority access, allowing you to skip the general admission line on the night of your choice.

To purchase a VIP Fast Pass, select any available time slot on your preferred date during booking. However, as a VIP guest, you may disregard the entry time on your ticket and enjoy flexible access at any point during event hours that evening.

Your glow wristband will be provided at check-in upon arrival.

Can I take photos or videos during the experience?

Everyone loves a great photo op at Terra Luna! Yes, but please avoid any flash photography.

If you decide to take photos or videos during the experience, please be mindful of other visitors. Keep moving to maintain a clear and steady flow along the path. Avoid blocking traffic. If you wish to spend more time watching a specific performance, step to the side of the path to allow others to pass easily.

Where are the restrooms located?

Restrooms are available at the beginning of the event inside LongHouse Visitor Center or the Environmental Education Center. It is recommended that visitors use the restrooms prior to their entry time for the experience.

Accessibility

The event is wheelchair accessible—pathways are paved and generally manageable, though some areas with low lighting, slight inclines, or uneven/narrow paths may pose challenges. The walk is about one mile long, with easy walking/light hiking and plenty to see along the way.

There are several rest opportunities built into the experience. Guests will find a handful of benches along the path to take a quick break. In addition, we’ll have two bar stations within the walk where you can pause for a refreshment (beer, cocktails, or non-alcoholic options), with some seating nearby. These spots are perfect for a rest and recharge before continuing your journey.

Bypass options are available throughout the route, so if guests ahead of you pause to enjoy a performance, you can easily continue on to the next area at your own pace.

Guests may not bring strollers, wagons, or similar items into the event. However, if a mobility device or equipment is needed to accommodate a guest’s accessibility needs, it will of course be permitted.

Pets are not allowed, with the exception of service animals.

Attractions include lighting effects, fog, minimal path lighting, and some areas with inclines, declines, and uneven pathways. No strobe lights will be used in the experience.
