Friends of the Arboretum August Newsletter

Dear Friends,

This time of year presents many firsts across our community. There are the firsts for many families in their kid’s school journey, the first of the Chiefs’ pre-season games, the first of fall annuals begin to arrive, and FOTA’s “first to see” Exclusive Membership Event on Wednesday, September 6. This member-only event will give you an opportunity to be the first to see LongHouse, our new visitor’s center. Come join us for beverages and light snacks, socializing with other members, and a sneak peek of the new space before it opens to the public. Don’t forget to RSVP now!

On August 1, you received an email to let you know that tickets are now on sale for Terra Luna. Beginning September 14—for 6 nights only—the Gardens play host to a spectacular evening of light and music sure to be enjoyed by the entire family.

Coming up on August 21, you will receive an email about getting tickets for our annual Botanical Brewfest, which will be held on Saturday, October 14. This has been one of my favorite events—personally, I don’t think anything is more spectacular than fall in the gardens with the cooler temps and vibrant colors. And certainly, the opportunity to sample beers from across the region, sway to live music, and savor the good eats will not disappoint!

A fast follow to Terra Luna, we will begin to share news on our ever-popular Luminary Walk and Candlelight Stroll events. Watch your email in the early part of October for information on purchasing tickets as well as exciting news that will increase your options to come out to the gardens for the holiday spectacular!
