Stems is a delightful evening in a beautiful setting!
Stems is art, music, wine, food and fun!
It’s the place to sip, savor & socialize!
It’s an evening to remember!
Stems is for a great cause – enhancing the quality of life in our community! From the moment guests arrive, they know this party is something special! Tastings of all kinds – from sliders to crab cakes, antipasto to crepes – are available at destinations along the paths and among the gardens. Around every turn, there’s more fun to be had! We’ve had sunny skies, starry nights, rain and rainbows. And always the party goes on!
The Arts & Recreation Foundation is dedicated to making Overland Park the best possible place to live, work and play. Since its founding in 1995, the Foundation with the Friends of the Arboretum, Friends of the Farmstead and Friends of Arts have funded capital projects and programs and provided matching funds for the city’s master plan for public art. Friends events such as the Nutcracker Tea Party, Night of the Living Farm and Luminary Walk have become cherished family traditions for thousands. Proceeds from Stems have funded the Cohen Iris Garden and the Train Garden at the Arboretum; the Ice Cream Parlor and the General Store at the Farmstead; public art at Tomahawk Ridge Community Center, City Hall and Roe Park; and plans for a new sculpture garden and Visitor Center at the Arboretum.
Leadership has always been a key to success, and a committee of over 120 fantastic volunteers work hard but have fun! The volunteer crew is dedicated to making every detail perfect! Our sponsors, donors and attendees have raised $2 million in the past 9 years.
