What is Terra Luna?
In collaboration with Quixotic, Terra Luna offers a family-friendly, immersive experience through the garden paths and woods at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. This multimedia walk features light displays, performers, and music along a 1/2 mile paved trail.
Attractions include lighting effects, fog, minimal path lighting, and some areas of inclines, declines, and uneven, narrow pathways. No strobe lights will be used in the experience.
Ticket Exchanges
Tickets are non-refundable, but they are exchangeable - based on availability. After completing your purchase, you will receive an email confirmation with a button labeled "Exchange Tickets"

Here’s what you need to know before purchasing:
- Create an account before completing the sale. There will be a prompt to do so.
- If you wish to exchange after purchasing, log into our ticketing partner’s website – https://www.showclix.com/my-tickets/login.
- Follow the instructions to “swap” your tickets for another date and time of entry.
Tickets will not be replaced if lost, stolen, or unused.

Weather Policy
Terra Luna is held rain or shine, with the exception of severe/dangerous conditions. Guest safety is our primary concern. When severe weather conditions exist, we may choose to delay or cancel the event. If the weather looks questionable, please check the header of our main event page for the most up-to-date status alert.
In the event that Terra Luna is delayed or canceled due to severe or hazardous weather conditions, announcements will be made onsite by event staff and volunteers, and statuses updated on the main event webpage, Facebook, and Instagram. Ticket holders will be informed via email with further instructions. (Be sure to check your junk, spam, and promotions folders!) Guests may be asked to evacuate the event and take shelter in their vehicles onsite.
Additional information, including any potential rainout dates, will be provided to ticket holders as necessary. Tickets are non-refundable.
Parking & Carpooling
Parking is free. Guests will enter the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens at the normal entrance gate at 8909 W. 179th Street. Parking attendants will then direct guests to onsite lots based on availability. A complimentary shuttle will be running at nearby Wolf Springs Elementary School for overflow parking. Handicap parking is available in the main lot. Being such a popular event, ride-sharing is always a great idea! Guests may also drop their party off at the front door and then head to parking.
How Long is the Experience?
The Terra Luna experience typically takes about one hour to complete. If you have extra time before or after your scheduled walk, we invite you to explore the Celestial Fair near LongHouse Visitor Center, where you can enjoy food, beverages, and shopping local artisans for additional purchase.
What is included in the VIP Fast Pass?
A $60 VIP Fast Pass includes a Terra Luna tote bag, glow wrist band, and ability to jump to the front of the line on the night you choose during booking. To book this ticket, you must choose an available time slot on the date of choice. VIP Fast Pass ticket holders will pick up their complimentary items upon arrival from the ticket scanners at entry.
Is there a special Adults Only Night?
Yes! We're excited to offer a special night this year for Adults Only on Thursday, September 19. Guests must be 18+ to attend.
Do kids get any special pricing?
Yes, Terra Luna is a family-friendly experience. Children ages 2-12 are discounted to $25 each. Children under 23 months are free and do not require a ticket. Guests are not allowed to bring strollers, wagons, or similar items into the event area. (see below)
Are strollers allowed inside the event?
Please be advised that strollers will not be permitted inside the event area. However, we will provide a designated space in the Community Room at LongHouse Visitor Center for stroller storage. Please note that this area will not be monitored and we encourage you to take necessary precautions to secure your belongings. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Will food and drink be available at the event? What is the Celestial Fair?
The Celestial Fair is a vendor experience set within the gardens near LongHouse Visitor Center, before you begin your enchanted walk through Terra Luna. Food, drink, artisan products, and gift shop merchandise will all be available for additional purchase, not included in the ticket price. Vendor lineup and offerings may differ between event nights. Doors open nightly at 6pm, so that you may arrive early prior to your scheduled walk time and enjoy a festival-like atmosphere.
Enjoy KC local favorite vendors such as: Jack Stack Barbecue, Mean Mule, Made Mobb, Tap That KC, Sugarfold, The French Custard, Taco Naco, Roots KC, Simple Empathy, and more!
Can I take photos or videos during the experience?
Everyone loves a great photo op at Terra Luna! Yes, but please avoid any flash photography.
If you decide to take photos or videos during the experience, please be mindful of other visitors. Keep moving to maintain a clear and steady flow along the path. Avoid blocking traffic. If you wish to spend more time watching a specific performance, step to the side of the path to allow others to pass easily.

Where are the restrooms located?
Restrooms are available at the beginning of the event inside LongHouse Visitor Center or the Environmental Education Center. It is recommended that visitors use the restrooms prior to their entry time for the experience.
Accessibility
Visitors of all ages are welcome. The event is wheelchair accessible - pathways are paved and generally accessible - some areas of low lighting visibility and slight inclines may pose challenges. The path is about one mile long, with easy walking/light hiking and lots to see and do.
Guests are not allowed to bring strollers, wagons, or similar items into the event area.
Pets are prohibited, with the exception of service animals.
Attractions include lighting effects, fog, minimal path lighting, and some areas of inclines, declines, and uneven, narrow pathways. No strobe lights will be used in the experience.

- Visitors should dress appropriately for an outdoors experience through the gardens and woods with closed-toe shoes and layers pending weather conditions.
- Visitors should not litter.
- The Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens is a smoke-free facility.
- Firearms or weapons of any kind are not allowed.
- Visitors should stay on the marked Dark Forest path. Do not wander in the woods.
- Visitors should not touch performers.
- Visitors should be respectful of fellow guests and performers throughout the experience.
- Visitors are welcome to take photos and videos but flash photography is strictly prohibited.
- Visitors should dress appropriately for an outdoors experience on natural terrain through the woods with closed-toe shoes and layers pending weather conditions.
- Visitors should not litter.
- Powell Gardens is a smoke-free facility.
