When Bruce’s grandchildren were little, they were mesmerized by the mystique of the Overland Park Arboretum. Through their young eyes, their imaginations came alive as they saw and experienced nature.
One day while exploring the Arboretum’s 300 acres, they came across small bluffs and rocks overhanging parts of a hiking trail. They immediately named it “their cave.” It became a tradition for Bruce and his grandkids to stop by that special spot during all their visits.
Now teens, Bruce’s grandchildren still want to visit “their cave” every time they join him at the Arboretum.
“I love that my grandkids and I have a place we consider all our own at the Overland Park Arboretum. Over the years, we’ve connected and created experiences that are solely ours. As they’ve gotten older, I’ve realized how important the Arboretum has been in creating that special bond.”
