The Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is hosting a specialty curated exhibit called Whirlwind: Art in Motion. The Exhibit is comprised of 13 Kinetic Sculptures powered by wind and solar. Opening day is April 21 and you are invited. To kick off this one of a kind exhibit, we are hosting a symposium with the artists and experts in their field. Including Bill Zahner, Bruce Hartman, Mike Wickerson and Debby Coles-Dobay. Presentations will include the history of kinetic art, how art and science combine in the construction of the sculptures, the current and future status of kinetic sculpture. and a round table discussion with the sculptors.
Tickets include symposium, a light breakfast, admission to the gardens, a guided tour of the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art and an invitation to our grand opening ceremony with the artists available to discuss their work in person.

8:00-9:00 a.m. Registration and Continental Breakfast, no food or drink are allowed in the auditorium
9:00-12:00 p.m. Symposium at the Hudson Auditorium, JCCC
12:00-1:00 p.m. Tour at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, limited to 40 people
2:00-4:00 p.m. Opening Reception at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens
