Guided Tours – Whirlwind: Art in Motion

Make the Most of Your Whirlwind Experience

There's no better way to enjoy and learn about the kinetic art exhibit, "Whirlwind: Art in Motion," as well as the Arboretum, than through one of our guided tours.

Whether you choose one of the public tours scheduled on selected Saturdays or arrange for a private tour for a group, our guide will lead you through the gardens to explore the art and science of this unique sculpture genre. You will increase your understanding of modern contemporary sculpture and have some fun too. Tours will begin at the admissions kiosk.

Private Tours

Great for groups of all sizes, we are happy to assist in making your time at the Arboretum informative and engaging. Choose between a walking tour (no limit on number of participants) or a cart tour (limited to 12 participants).

Want to make your tour an extra-special outing for your group? Schedule for late morning or early afternoon, and pre-order lunch in the Garden Café. Schedule an after-work event, and we'll arrange for wine and cheese following the tour! (Cost for food and beverage is in addition to tour fee.)

Tour cost per person is $10 (without a food or beverage option) in addition to the daily admission fee for ages 6 and up.

Request a private tour via our online request form or by contacting the Arboretum directly at 913-685-3604.

Public Tours

For 2018, we currently have five public guided-tour dates scheduled. Each tour begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. Join us on any one of these Saturdays - May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11, and September 8. Individuals may register online. The cost is the same as a private tour - $10 per person - in addition to the daily admission fee for ages 6 and up.
